Stein's 'Challenge' To Listeners Reaches Halfway Mark
July 14, 2008 at 3:10 PM (PT)
SPORTING NEWS RADIO's "THE DAVID STEIN SHOW: A CELEBRATION OF LIFE THROUGH SPORTS" is at the halfway mark of its 2008 Sports Calendar Challenge. STEIN is encouraging his listeners to cut out bad habits and addictions from their lives by taking it in steps, and thousands of listeners have taken him up on the challenge.
"We mapped out the steps according to the big events throughout the sports year," explained STEIN. "The best thing is that we have one big accountability group, and I am held accountable just like anyone else who participates. It's awesome to know that we are struggling together and winning our battles together." The next step after this week's ALL-STAR GAME at YANKEE STADIUM is the PGA Championship in AUGUST.
In addition, each day this week, STEIN's show is hosting the athletes who have received or donated organs, bone marrow and tissue who are competing in this week's U.S. TRANSPLANT GAMES in PITTSBURGH. "I am humbled by their courage," said STEIN, "and I'm amazed at the number of listeners who have graciously donated organs or have, with gratitude, received an organ. All of the listeners who have called in became more active in sports after their surgeries!"
STEIN's show airs weeknights 2-6a ET on SPORTING NEWS RADIO and on XM SATELLITE RADIO and SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO.
