TIML, the new owner of VIRGIN RADIO, has appointed CHRIS LAWSON, former digital media director at BAUER CONSUMER MEDIA as brand director for ABSOLUTE RADIO, reports NEW MEDIA AGE. LAWSON will be responsible for developing both the new brand and the digital business for the station and will oversee the newly merged digital and marketing department. He will report to COO CLIVE DICKENS, a former CAPITAL RADIO executive.
The appointment comes less than two weeks after TIML, a subsidiary of THE TIMES OF INDIA GROUP, acquired VIRGIN RADIO from SMG for £53m.
LAWSON's appointment follows a company restructure which saw ANDY GRUMBRIDGE, digital director of VIRGIN RADIO and DAVID LLOYD, the Program and Marketing Director at VIRGIN RADIO, leave the company.
