July 22, 2008 at 7:45 AM (PT)
MAGIC BROADCASTING Country WTVY/DOTHAN OM/PD KRIS VAN DYKE has confirmed that basically his entire air staff has left the building. Morning personalities AMIE POLLARD and KEN CARLILE (“POLLARD and KC in the MORNING”), suddenly checked out late yesterday afternoon (07/21) after five years on the air together.
Also departing the station yesterday are MD/midday personality “BIG” MIKE CASEY, after seven years with WTVY, and evening jock ELIZABETH PARRISH, another seven-year veteran.
VAN DYKE told ALL ACCESS, “MAGIC BROADCASTING is a great company and we're taking this opportunity to re-staff our heritage Country station and forge ahead with a fresh start on all fronts." Morning teams/talent, middays and PM Drive are open immediately.”
Send audio (MP3, 5meg or less) and resume to KrisVanDyke@MagicBroadcasting.net.
Staffers Speak Out
Meanwhile, in a statement to ALL ACCESS, former morning personality AMIE POLLARD, who joined the station eight years ago, said: “We have enjoyed our stay with the WTVY immensely and cherish the relationship with our listeners. We just want everyone to know that we’re not leaving radio; we’ll be back.”
With that statement in mind, POLLARD is wasting no time -- she and ELIZABETH PARRISH will be joining crosstown competitor GULF SOUTH COMMUNICATIONS Classic Country WDBT on a temporary basis -- POLLARD for mornings and PARRISH for nights.
