The UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA inks a new five-year deal to keep the KNIGHTS' football, basketball, and baseball games on CLEAR CHANNEL Spanish Adult Hits WQTM-A (LA PRECIOSA)/ORLANDO -- and will put a promotional schedule on all of CLEAR CHANNEL's local stations in the market.
The deal, through rights holder ISP SPORTS will place football coach GEORGE O'LEARY's show on Talk WFLF-A (540 WFLA) for MONDAY nights 7-8p during the season, with game broadcasts and basketball coach KIRK SPERAW's show on WQTM. WFLA will also add a one-minute "DAILY KNIGHTS REPORT" and a promotional presence for the KNIGHTS on DAN SILEO's morning show and "THE FINISH LINE" on WFLF. A promotional schedule will also run on all seven CC stations for 38 weeks, and the stations' websites will add KNIGHTS material.
"UCF Athletics will gain a great marketing edge in the community," said Dir./Athletics and EVP KEITH TRIBBLE. "But most importantly, and paramount in our negotiations, our core events will continue to air on stations with strong broadcast signals. It's comforting to know that day or night from SANFORD to KISSIMMEE and as far as MELBOURNE, DELAND and DAYTONA, the UCF game day broadcast will be able to reach our entire CENTRAL FLORIDA fan base."
"Community support for UCF Athletics has never been higher and we are very pleased to continue our long-running relationship," said CLEAR CHANNEL ORLANDO Dir./Programming CHRIS KAMPMEIER.
"We are delighted to be able to provide this level of radio coverage of UCF Athletics to our loyal fan base," said UCF ISP SPORTS NETWORK GM JOSH BULLOCK. "The additional multimedia aspects of the partnership among UCF, ISP and CLEAR CHANNEL increase the value of the overall agreement as well, with KNIGHT supporters receiving significant benefit in these areas, too, as they follow UCF teams throughout the year."
