KHAK Gets Back To Normal After Floods ... Somewhat
July 29, 2008 at 7:26 AM (PT)
CUMULUS Country KHAK/CEDAR RAPIDS PD BOB JAMES tells ALL ACCESS that after last month’s devastating floods, and 42-days of being spread out all over the city, the four stations in the cluster, including sales and support staffs are all back in the same building.
“Everything returned to “normal” last FRIDAY when we moved the business and sales departments back into the building," said JAMES. "It’s great to be together after 42 days spread out all over the city. It’s amazing how much easier it is to get work done when everyone’s in the same place. We were very lucky as our building is only the 2nd one downtown that’s occupied (ALLIANT ENERGY was the first). There are still traffic lights being powered by gas-generators and a lot of buildings still have no electricity, just to give you an idea of the challenges still facing our city.”
JAMES added that all KHAK air-shifts are ‘live’ once again and although there are still some bugs to be worked out- things are inching their way back to normalcy. Reach out to BOB at Bob.James@cumulus.com.
