The government of NOVA SCOTIA has granted C$20,000 to a non-profit group which is applying to the CRTC for a new community FM station in AMHERST, NS. The group, TANTRAMAR COMMUNITY RADIO SOCIETY, will use the money to help build the station if it is successful in its quest for the license, reports the HALIFAX CHRONICLE HERALD.
The provincial Department of Culture and Heritage previously pledged $15,000 and Cumberland County Council has granted $10,000. All of the grants are contingent on the awarding of a license.
