The DELAWARE COUNTY DAILY TIMES is reporting that former PHILADELPHIA FLYERS defenseman CHRIS THERIEN will replace fellow former FLYER BRIAN PROPP as color analyst for the FLYERS' radio broadcasts on CBS Sports WIP-A/PHILADELPHIA this season.
THERIEN, known as "BUNDY" to fans and teammates, is a regular guest on WIP shows as well as analyst for FLYERS games on COMCAST SPORTSNET and co-host of a weekly hockey show on WIP with BRIAN STARTARE during the season. He told the DAILY TIMES that he is "excited at the opportunity. It gets me around the game again, which is something I really missed. What I want to do is put the listener on the end of the bench during the game and in the locker room between periods."
Play-by-play announcer TIM SAUNDERS added that THERIEN's "personality lends itself to the job. I think he'll do great. I'm excited about it and we'll definitely have a lot of fun together. Every time you have a new partner in the booth, you always learn something new. I'm sure (THERIEN) will have several insights that will be different than other folks may have had before, and I think he'll convey them very well. He's just a natural for this position, and frankly, I think we're going to have a blast."
