UNITED STATIONS RADIO NETWORKS has named two executives to newly created VP positions within the company. DAVE ANKERS has been named as USRN’s new VP/Operations and Digital Media, while JUDY ROSEN has been named as the VP/Managing Director of Pulse Content for the company’s Pulse of Radio division, which provides prep services and online news content. Both moves are effective immediately and both positions report directly to USRN’s Chairman/CEO NICK VERBITSKY.
ANKERS has been with USRN and based at the company’s NEW YORK offices since the acquisition of LAUNCH RADIO NETWORKS from YAHOO! at the start of 2003. ANKERS began in radio at WMMR/PHILADELPHIA, and his radio career includes stints as MD for SWE CABLE RADIO and as Product Manager for SW RADIO NETWORKS.
ROSEN comes to PULSE CONTENT and USRN from CBSNEWS.COM where she was an entertainment news producer. JUDY, who has also been professionally known as JUDY FARBER has been acknowledged as a pioneer of music sites on the Internet.
In making the announcements, NICK VERBITSKY commented that "These two new managers are among the brightest people in our business and we’re thrilled to put them both in their respective driver’s seats as we expand and enhance our content and distribution. The media landscape is changing daily, and with DAVE and JUDY on board, we’re better equipped to serve our three sets of clients -- our affiliates, their listeners and our advertisers."
