DIAL GLOBAL is about to merge the DIAL GLOBAL DIGITAL 24/7 Formats with those acquired from JONES RADIO NETWORKS. Five new formats -- Mainstream Country, Hot Country, Hot AC, Classic Rock and Kool Gold -- will launch on DECEMBER 29th for the nearly 1,700 stations.
"Our priority was to address the redundant formats offered by our company and JONES -- and then merge them into five new super-charged formats," noted DIAL GLOBAL Programming Pres. KIRK STIRLAND, who spent three months analyzing both the DIAL GLOBAL and JONES programming with three months analyzing with EVP/Programming BEAU PHILLIPS.
"With the acquisition of JRN, we inherited an abundance of talent," PHILLIPS said. "Our goal from the beginning was to blend the best elements from each company and put the best teams on the field. I'm confident we've done that."
DIAL GLOBAL has produced complete materials and a web resource to introduce the new formats, and the company will immediately begin an orderly program to coordinate the evolution of air staff, format clocks and distribution with their affiliates. "We place a tremendous value in providing our affiliates with true customer service," STIRLAND concluded. "It’s a commitment that starts from the top down."
