Man Charged With Threatening WEEI Hosts

A CAMBRIDGE, MA man has been charged with five criminal counts for making obscene and threatening phone calls to ENTERCOM Talk WEEI-A/BOSTON morning hosts JOHN DENNIS and GERRY CALLAHAN. The BOSTON GLOBE reports that DAVID BANNER, who made four such calls in OCTOBER and NOVEMBER, all recorded, has been charged with two counts of criminal harassment, two counts of threats to commit a crime, and one count of making annoying phone calls.
BANNER was released on $1,000 cash bail by BRIGHTON Municipal Court Judge DAVID T. DONNELLY. He has been ordered to refrain from contacting the victims or any other radio station in BOSTON and must return to court FEBRUARY 19th.
Among the calls made by BANNER, reports the GLOBE, were an OCTOBER 29th call in which he allegedly said he would kick a station employee in the teerh, and two NOVEMBER 4th calls in which he made death threats.
