FCC Releases 2008 Q1, Q2 Consumer Complaint Figures

The FCC has released the report on informal consumer inquiries and complaints for first quarter 2008, and it shows radio and TV complaints jumping from 1,249 in 4th quarter 2007 to 122,104 in first quarter 2008, 99% involving indecency/obscenity complaints. Radio and TV inquiries jumping 310% from 4th quarter 2007 to 51,920, mostly dealing with the digital television transition.
In second quarter 2008, however, radio/TV complaints fell off to 20.217 (82% involving indecency), while inquiries fell 63% to 31,719 (84% about the digital transition).
