ALL ACCESS has learned that RADIO & RECORDS Pres./Publisher ERICA FARBER will be leaving the company at the end of JANUARY, after 16 years with the publication. That announcement was made via company memo by NIELSEN COMPANY Pres./Music & CEO ROB SISCO.
SISCO said, "ERICA is a thoroughly well-respected executive and leader in both the Radio and Record industries. Her accomplishments and contributions both at R&R and in the Radio and Record communities are too numerous to mention but have assured her status as a legendary figure in our businesses.
"With ERICA's departure, I believe this is the ideal time to begin a new chapter for the R&R brand and continue to broaden its strategic and editorial direction by more closely aligning it with other world-class brands within THE NIELSEN COMPANY.
"To that end, I’m pleased to announce that, effective immediately, RADIO & RECORDS will be integrated into the NIELSEN BUSINESS MEDIA portfolio. R&R will be part of the ENTERTAINMENT GROUP at BUSINESS MEDIA, which is led by GERRY BYRNE and includes BILLBOARD, THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, BACK STAGE and SHOWEST, among other brands.
"HOWARD APPELBAUM, Publisher of BILLBOARD and VP/Entertainment for BUSINESS MEDIA, will add R&R to his responsibilities, uniting both music industry brands under one leader. I am grateful to ERICA for her many contributions to R&R's success. Please join me in thanking her for her dedication and wishing her all the best in her next endeavor."
