FORT BEND BROADCASTING Country WLDR (101.9)/TRAVERSE CITY-PETOSKEY, MI announced being the first radio station in MICHIGAN to broadcast in HD RADIO. The town gathered together at the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE to welcome the station to a fraternity of more than 1800 HD RADIO stations nation-wide.
"WLDR's investment in HD RADIO affirms that there are benefits to multi-channel technology for small and mid-market stations serving the nation's heartland," Sales and Marketing VP DEBRA HUTTENBURG said. "We at BE are honored to be a part of this important day in WLDR's and HD RADIO's history.
"Station's in the 100 and below markets can and should go HD RADIO," Owner of Operations of WLDR ROY HENDERSON said. "Local markets will absorb per capita all that HD RADIO has to offer because we just don't have the competing media that the larger markets have. iTUNES tagging is a good example of how we can stand out here more easily than they can in CHICAGO."
