CAROLWOOD/NASHVILLE's newest duo, THE PARKS, will headline a benefit on FEBRUARY 26th in NASHVILLE for eight-year-old JAKE DEATON, the son of one of their band members. "Jammin' For Jake" will take place at 3rd & Lindsley from 6-9p (CT) and will also feature TRENT WILLMON, RAY SCOTT and ALVARADO ROAD SHOW.
JAKE was diagnosed with retinoblastoma at six months old, but after chemo therapy and laser surgery was declared cancer-free. In 2006, the then-five-year-old was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma and once again received chemo. After having a metal rod inserted in place of his femur he was again declared cancer-free in June 2007.
This past OCTOBER, the cancer returned and JAKE had the lower part of his lung removed and doctors were confident that they got all of the cancer. In JANUARY the DEATONS were told several tumors were present in JAKE's chest and they were deemed inoperable. They have decided to forgo anymore painful treatment that would only give JAKE more time, but not cure him. For more on JAKE, visit www.teamjake.chipin.com or www.caringbridge.org/visit/boogerman.
