A proposed advertising tax has died in committee in the SOUTH DAKOTA House of Representatives.
The House Taxation Committee killed the proposed 4% tax on radio, TV, and newspaper advertising by a 9-5 vote. Rep. THOMAS DEADRICK (R-PLATTE) offered the tax as a way to raise about $5 million for school funding.
