WOOD/Grand Rapids' Rick Beckett Dies

Condolences to family, friends, and fans of CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WOOD-A/GRAND RAPIDS 9a-noon "RICK AND SCOTT SHOW" co-host RICK BECKETT, who died THURSDAY night of a heart attack. BECKETT, a GRAND RAPIDS native, and SCOTT WINTERS are fixtures in the market from their years handling mornings at WGRD and WKLQ before joining WOOD over five years ago. BECKETT had battled health issues for years but his passing was unexpected.

The station issued a statement reading, "We, at NEWSRADIO WOOD 1300, will miss Rick and will never forget him. Our deepest sympathies are extended to his family, friends and of course, those who have listened to him and shared his life for nearly two decades." A special tribute show will air MONDAY (3/2) 9a-noon.
