Roach Upped At AP

The ASSOCIATED PRESS has upped acting head of the Broadcast News Center KEVIN ROACH to Director of U.S. Broadcast News, according to a memo from AP Exec. Editor KATHLEEN CARROLL to staff reprinted at JIM ROMENESKO's POYNTER INSTITUTE website. ROACH is responsible for all AP U.S. radio, broadcast text, online video and television operations.
ROACH's promotion is one of a series of management changes in the newsroom triggered by the retirement of Sr. Managing Editor MIKE SILVERMAN. Starting APRIL 1st, SILVERMAN's duties will be split by MIKE ORESKES and JOHN DANISZEWSKI, who are both being named Sr. Managing Editors.
