Nearly a month after pop star RIHANNA was found battered and bleeding on a HANCOCK PARK street, prosecutors have charged singer CHRIS BROWN with felony assault and making criminal threats. Yet in his first Court appearance, BROWN lawyer MARK GERAGOS requested a postponement of arraignment on the felony charges. The judge agreed to postpone the proceedings until APRIL 6th.
The charges carry a sentence ranging from probation to almost five years in prison, according to prosecutors. BROWN, who is free on $50,000 bail, is due to be arraigned on the charge this afternoon in LOS ANGELES Superior Court.
BROWN was arrested FEB. 8th, the day of the GRAMMY AWARDS, after LAPD officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault on a quiet, tree-lined street near Beverly Boulevard. The LA TIMES detailed the court document allegations here.
E! ONLINE reports that the judge instructed BROWN "not to annoy harass, molest, threaten or use force or violence against anyone" yet RIHANNA's legal representation "said that no such order was needed on her behalf."
