Thousands Rally With John And Ken

A crowd estimated at up to 15,000 by the station and 8,000 by police gathered SATURDAY in FULLERTON, CA for CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFI-A/LOS ANGELES' "Heads on a Stick" tax revolt rally held by afternoon team JOHN AND KEN.
The huge crowd cheered as ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER DVDs were destroyed with a sledgehammer and hosts JOHN KOBYLT and KEN CHAMPIOU urged the crowd to recall the Governor and Republican legislators who cooperated with the Democratic majority in SACRAMENTO to pass the largest state tax increase in history. The hosts, leading "heads on a stick" and "off with their heads" chants, also warned voters not to vote in favor of Proposition 1-A, a ballot measure that purports to be a spending cap but would extend the tax increases for two additional years.
The rally in a parking lot outside the SLIDEBAR CAFE in FULLERTON received television coverage in LOS ANGELES, but the LOS ANGELES TIMES, which came under fire from the hosts for a column criticizing their discussion of the issue as budget analysis "with crayons," did not cover the event other than a brief blog post citing ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER coverage.
JOHN AND KEN listeners have been sending crayons to columnist JAMES RAINEY and were urged to write the amount their taxes will go up with the increase on teabags and send them to RAINEY as well.
