Diversity On FCC 4/8 Meeting Agenda
March 20, 2009 at 5:14 AM (PT)
The tentative agenda for the FCC's APRIL 8th open meeting includes an item about a proposal to review and collect data on minority and female ownership of broadcast stations. The proposal reflects acting Chairman MICHAEL COPPS' often-voiced desire to gather the data with an eye towards increasing ownership diversity.
Other agenda items include a proposed rulemaking to promote rural radio service while streamlining auction, allotment and assignment policies, a Notice of Inquiry on a national broadband plan, more review of competition in video services, and another rulemaking regarding the Part 90 public safety rules.
