ESPN Sports WEPN-A (1050 ESPN)/NEW YORK evening host BRANDON TIERNEY has been formally named as the station's new 10a-noon host, effective immediately. TIERNEY has been filling in in the midday slot since MAX KELLERMAN's recent departure.
PD AARON SPIELBERG said, "I’m really happy for BRANDON, a native New Yorker and the ultimate NEW YORK sports fan who lives and dies with the local teams. I’m especially proud of how hard he has worked to cultivate his craft. His love of the games and his depth of knowledge make BRANDON the perfect fit for this timeslot."
Pres./GM TIM MCCARTHY said, "BRANDON has worked hard to earn the trust and respect of the NEW YORK sports fan. His NEW YORK sensibility and passion is contagious.”
"There are certain goals that as a broadcaster and journalist you strive to reach, and hosting a daily show in the biggest media market, with the hallmark name in sports attached to it... ESPN... is certainly one of those goals," said TIERNEY. "As a native New Yorker, to get to the point in my career where that goal is now attained is certainly an honor, and I am looking forward to being part of a great lineup of broadcasters and journalists on 1050 ESPN radio for a long time to come."
