March 27, 2009 at 11:02 AM (PT)
Talk WZFG-A (AM 1100 THE FLAG)/FARGO has gone to 24/7 coverage of the flooding emergency that threatens cities along the RED RIVER. The station's studios are in downtown FARGO less than a mile from the river, where sandbagging operations are continuing to try and head off what is already a record river height, breaking a 112 year old record.
The station is operating at its daytime power of 50,000 watts under the FCC's rules permitting daytime power at night in emergencies as long as programming airs without commercials. The station is receiving calls from as far away as ALABAMA and BRITISH COLUMBIA regarding the coverage.
Bismarck's KDKT On Flood Watch
DIGITAL SYNDICATE NETWORK Sports KDKT-A (FOX SPORTS RADIO 1410)/BISMARCK, ND has also suspended regular programming to cover the flood emergency across NORTH DAKOTA.
