ABC RADIO NETWORKS has changed its name to CITADEL MEDIA. In a press release, the radio group asserted that the new name will be come with "a new way of thinking. A new way of doing business. A new way of serving our clients and delivering the audience you need to better sell your products or services.
"In the coming months we will provide you with new tools that will make it easier to do business with us 24/7," the release claimed. "You asked Network Radio for greater transparency -- and we heard you. Now you'll have greater access to information on our shows and products."
The staff isn't expected to change due to the name change.
Concurrently, ABC RADIO NETWORKS EN ESPAÑOL has changed its name to CITADEL MEDIA EN ESPAÑOL, a move that will allow the company to capitalize on synergistic opportunities throughout the marketplace. The new name is expected to better connect audiences with advertisers across multiple platforms beyond its core radio business including mobile, out-of-home, digital and experiential marketing.
"As part of ABC RADIO NETWORKS, our Hispanic division has enjoyed tremendous growth as we have added significant talent to our portfolio in the past two years," CITADEL MEDIA EN ESPAÑOL VP/Programming and Operations ELISA TORRES said. "We are strongly positioned for continued success as we provide our affiliates with compelling content designed to drive audience ratings and build revenue for their stations. Our goal as CITADEL MEDIA EN ESPAÑOL is to remain a valuable resource to these broadcasting partners who place their trust in us."
"We offer our advertisers one of the most efficient and effective mediums to target their brands’ customers and reach the growing population of Hispanic consumers," CITADEL MEDIA EN ESPAÑOL VP/Sales CARLOS SAN JOSE. "Our focus is to continue delivering customized partnerships with a 360 approach, which is a key advantage for our clients. This allows us to extend the relationships our on-air personalities have with their audiences creating deeper brand engagement."
ABC News Radio: Still ABC News Radio
The change does not affect ABC NEWS RADIO, which is distributed by CITADEL MEDIA but remains owned by ABC and the WALT DISNEY CO. and is not changing its name.
