FCC Makes Several Staff Changes

FCC Acting Chairman MICHAEL COPPS announced a raft of staff changes at the Commission late THURSDAY. Among the many changes, Deputy Chief of the Wireline Competition Bureau (WCB) and Acting Chief of the Competition Policy Division of the WCB JULIE VEACH will serve as Acting Bureau Chief, Wireline Competition Bureau; WCB Chief DANA SHAFFER will become Deputy Chief, Enforcement Bureau (EB). WILLIAM DEVER will serve as Acting Chief, Competition Policy Division, WCB, while Enforcement Bureau Assistant Chief WILLIAM DAVENPORT has been promoted to Associate Chief, EB. Managing Director ANTHONY J. DALE is currently on leave and will leave the agency in the next several weeks to pursue other interests.
Also, SUZANNE TETREAULT will leave the Market Disputes Resolution Division, EB to become Acting Deputy Bureau Chief, Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau (CGB). Deputy Chief, CGB NICOLE MCGINNIS will become Assistant Division Chief, Spectrum and Competition Policy Division, Wireless Telecommunications Bureau. Senior Legal Counsel in the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSB) JEFF COHEN will become Acting Deputy Bureau Chief. Bureau Chief, PSHSB ERIKA OLSEN will become Special Counsel to the Bureau Chief.
In addition, CAROL SIMPSON, formerly on detail to the Office of Rep. JANE HARMAN (D-CA), has returned to PSHSB as Acting Associate Bureau Chief. Chief, Office of Communications and Industry Information, Media Bureau MICHAEL S. PERKO will serve as Acting Director, Office of Legislative Affairs, and LAWRENCE SCHAFFNER will serve as Acting Director, Office of Workplace Diversity.
