Former WBZ GM Lamont Thompson Passes

Condolences to family and friends of former WESTINGHOUSE WBZ-TV and WBZ-A/BOSTON VP/GM LAMONT "TOMMY" THOMPSON, who died MARCH 26th of bone cancer in SOUTHERN PINES, NC at 92, according to the BOSTON GLOBE.
THOMPSON, a former FBI agent, entered radio after WORLD WAR II in sales at KQW-A/SAN FRANCISCO, then for CBS in CHICAGO, HARTFORD, and NEW YORK before joining WESTINGHOUSE at KPIX (TV)/SAN FRANCISCO as Sales Manager. He moved to WBZ in 1964 and was upped to VP in 1968. He retired in 1979.
