WNOU Seconds Free Concert Texting Contest
April 28, 2009 at 11:44 AM (PT)
RADIO ONE Top 40/Mainstream WNOU (RADIONOW 100.9)/INDIANAPOLIS has embarked on another ‘Principal for a Day’ contest, this time featuring national recording artist FALL OUT BOY. After over 1.1 million texts poured into the station’s text messaging system last OCTOBER when the first ‘Principal for a Day’ contest was executed, the station decided to do it again.
Again, the station will ask its local INDIANAPOLIS area high school students to text in the name of their school. The school with the most texts at the end of 10-day long campaign will have the SCOTTY SHOW invade their campus for one day and FALL OUT BOY will hold a private press conference with select students in the school.
One grand prize winner will be selected from the group of online entrants to be named the "Official Fall Out Boy Photographer." The contest started MONDAY, APRIL 27th at 7:45am. By the end of the day on MONDAY, the station had received over 56,000 text messages. The winning school will be announced on MAY 8th.
"We couldn't wait to bring this contest back,' PD TIM RAINEY said. "I wish I had up close and personal opportunities with my favorite musicians like this when I was in school."
