S-R BROADCASTING Sports KRKO-A (NORTHSOUND 1380)/EVERETT, WA has filed its application with the FCC for a license to cover its new 34,000 watts daytime/50,000 watts nighttime signal, and, once again, the station's plans have drawn opposition from neighbors, who filed sixteen objections to the granting of the license.
Petitions to deny were filed by MARK CRAVEN, EVENT HORIZON FARM, ROBERT T. HARRISON, SNOHOMISH COUNTY, CURTIS and VICKI CREIGHTON, and MICHAEL and DOROTHY BEEMAN. Informal objections were filed by the CREIGHTONS, DOU ang EMILY EWING, ANGELA DAY, ALBERT C. HIGHBERGER, JAMES and KRISTEN BURGESS, DAN and EVELYN DOUGLAS, the "STEWARDS OF THE LAND AND COMMUNITY,"RODNEY H. and DONNA J. ZABELL, SUZANNE and FRANK FENIMORE, and the "BOARD OF COMMERISSIONERS" (sic).
Construction of the tower array for KRKO and a new AM sister station was delayed for years before construction finally was completed after the station won its appeal in JANUARY of a hearing examiner's stop-work order in OCTOBER. The construction was completed and the new signal turned on in FEBRUARY.
