CRTC OKs Quebec FMs' Power Increases

CORUS French Active Rock CKOY/SHERBROOKE, QC gets CRTC approval for a power increase from 1,300 to 50,000 watts maximum ERP. The station will also relocate its antenna to the tower of sister French Oldies CHLT.
The CRTC also approved COOPERATIVE DE RADIODIFFUSION MF 103,5 DE LANAUDIERE's bid to increase power at French AC CJLM (M 103,5)/JOLIETTE, QC from 3,000 to 4,500 watts and RADIO COMMUNAUTAIRE DE LA RIVE-SUD INC.'s application to increase the power of community station CHAA (FM 103.3)/LONGUEUIL, QC (MONTREAL) from 263 to 1,400 watts ERP.
And EVANOV COMMUNICATIONS has received approval to use 106.1 FM for its previously approved new station in WINNIPEG. The new station will have an ERP of 40,000 watts; EVANOV originally proposed 104.7 FM but was directed by the CRTC to find a new frequency.
