Former CRTC Chair Charles Dalfen Dies

Former CANADIAN RADIO-TELEVISION AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION Chairman CHARLES DALFEN died suddenly on TUESDAY, reports the GLOBE AND MAIL.
DALFEN, 56, a longtime communications lawyer, served as head of the CRTC in 2002-2006 and Vice-Chairman, Telecommunications of the CRTC in 1976-80, and more recently worked at TORYS LLP, the TORONTO law firm where he served as Senior Partner before joining the CRTC. He also taught at CARLETON UNIVERSITY and the UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO and served as Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications.
