WOXY.com Becomes Listener-Supported Station
February 7, 2006 at 4:42 PM (PT)
Some 2 years after its transition to webcaster-only status, CINCINNATI-based BALOGH BROADCASTING Alternative WOXY.com is changing its business model to a subscription-based, listener-supported service. The station is currently requesting that listeners pay $9.95 per month in order to access "exclusive, commercial-free access to WOXY.com and WOXY Vintage in true CD-quality, stereo sound."
Listeners without that kind of money can still access the station, which will continue to offer a free, low-bandwidth stream. The station may, however, elminate the free stream within the next six weeks if it cannot garner enough paying customers.
