Arb Misses Minority PPM Sampling Targets In Several Markets

ARBITRON had problems meeting its minimum sample sizes for measuring African-American and Hispanic audiences via the PPM in a number of markets in APRIL, reports MEDIAPOST. In APRIL, ARBITRON failed to meet scheduled goals in LOS ANGELES, CHICAGO, DETROIT and NASSAU-SUFFOLK COUNTY.
Cases in point: The 18-34 African-American sample size was 64% of the target in L.A. missing the 75% goal. The sample size for the same demo in DETROIT was 59%, which missed the 70% target. In NASSAU-SUFFOLK, the 18-34 Hispanic sample size was 57% of the target, versus a minimum of 80%.
