CLEAR CHANNEL Oldies WSRZ/SARASOTA FL.Morning Crew (DAVID JONES and CHRISTINA CRANE) broke a local blood bank's 60-year record for blood donors in one day with a unique blood drive called "Pints For Play." Listeners who donated blood had the opportunity to play any song they wanted (in or out of the format). or plug their local business since WSRZ was commercial-free for the 12-hour blood drive.
In all, 295 listeners donated blood -- and 90 of them were first-time donors -- with an average of one unit of blood every three minutes. JONES and CRANE stayed on for all 12 hours and played everything from FRAMPTON to FLO-RIDA.
