Man Sentenced Today In Accident Involving WCTY Personality

A NORWICH, CT man faces up to two years in prison at his sentencing TODAY in connection with a 2007 accident that seriously injured a local radio personality, reports THE NORWICH BULLETIN. "JEREMY EASTERLING, 21, has pleaded guilty to second-degree assault with a motor vehicle and evading responsibility in connection with a MAY 11th, 2007 accident.
"SHELLY DENNIS, also known as SHELLY MARTINEZ, a radio personality on HALL Country WCTY/NEW LONDON, was seriously injured in the accident.
"At the time of his arrest, charges against EASTERLING included driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. That charge was dropped as part of the plea agreement. However, EASTERLING has pleaded guilty to drunken driving charges in connection with an unrelated arrest, records show.
"State prosecutors have recommended a six-year prison sentence, suspended after two years and three years probation. The sentencing in NORWICH Superior Court was initially scheduled for WEDNESDAY.
