The MAINE TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE has awarded a $498,600 Development Award to FONESHOW, the distributor of radio programming to cell phones. The funds will be used to further develop FONESHOW’s audio publishing platform and creation of customized radio programming by introducing content tagging, personalization, and data mining, reporting and analysis features.
“MAINE isn’t necessarily a place you think of as a hub of technology development, but with smart, business savvy leaders like MTI funding innovative companies in the region, the future is bright,” said FONESHOW Founder/CEO ERIK SCHWARTZ. “FONESHOW is growing and our technology is becoming more advanced and more popular in a radio industry that is struggling. We have the platform to help return radio to prominence and now we have the funds to develop it the right way, thanks to this award from MTI.”
