More Senior Staffers Named To FCC

FCC Chairman JULIUS GENACHOWSKI has added more senior staffers, naming DTV Task Force head WILLIAM LAKE as Media Bureau Chief and Acting Chief ROBERT RATCLIFFE and Enforcement Bureau Chief KRIS MONTEITH as Deputy Chiefs of the Media Bureau. Also named to senior posts were MASSACHUSETTS BROADBAND INSTITUTE Director SHARON GILLETT as Wireline Competition Bureau and Acting Deputy Chief of the Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau SUZANNE TETREAULT as Enforcement Bureau Deputy Chief.
"This extraordinarily talented senior staff has extensive experience in the private sector, the academy, and the public sector, including here at the FCC and in state government," said Chairman GENACHOWSKI. "With their help, the agency will pursue policies that advance a vibrant media sector, unleash innovation and job creation, protect consumers, and promote competition."
Also, attorney THOMAS REED has been named Director, Office of Communications Business Opportunities, replacing CAROLYN FLEMING WILLIAMS, who moves to the position of Senior Deputy Director, Office of Communications Business Opportunities; and LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE ON CIVIL RIGHTS VP for Strategic Initiatives MARK LLOYD has been tapped as Associate General Counsel and Chief Diversity Officer.
