CBS AAA WZGC (92.9 DAVE FM)/ATLANTA hires long-time market vet JIMMY BARON for mornings beginning MONDAY, AUGUST 17th. BARON will host the station's "Music Mornings" program. He fills the morning vacancy at DAVE FM following ZAKK TYLER's exit last year.
BARON spent 13 years in mornings at then-SUSQUEHANNA Alternative WNNX (99X). He left the station in 2006 to develop television projects for CBS TV, ENDOMOL ENTERTAINMENT, and WSB-TV, as well as to provide independent marketing and public relations consulting.
"When we developed the list of attributes critical for a successful morning talent, JIMMY nailed all of them -- he’s smart, humble, well-respected and understands the lifestyle of the dave audience," stated 92.9 DAVE-FM Dir./Programming SCOTT JAMESON. "JIMMY’s successful history in the market will bring a relevant local connectivity to our advertisers and listeners while we continue to provide all the great music that morning commuters have come to expect from DAVE FM."
"DAVE FM is something I've wanted to be part of for a long time," said BARON. "It's extremely exciting to return to the ATLANTA airwaves on a station that's got such great buzz and is clearly in tune with their listeners."
