CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO CHICAGO has announced the formation of what it is calling URBAN NETWORK. It includes Urban WGCI, Urban AC WVAZ and Black Gospel WGRB-A.
"Each station targets and influences a different segment of the population,” said Pres./Market Manager EARL JONES. “Together, these stations reach more than 1.2 million African-Americans weekly.”
Advertisers purchasing the URBAN NETWORK will receive a cross-platform of marketing opportunities to include radio, digital and events. The newly formed network will be seamless for the Urban station listeners with a listener base from WGCI, WVAZ and WGRB. They will continue to enjoy on-air programming and features designed specifically for the individual stations. DERRICK BROWN will assume the newly created role of Dir./Urban Programming for the three stations. BROWN previously served as WVAZ PD and Social Media Dir. for WLIT, WVAZ and WGRB.
