"Hello, you've reached the winter of your discontent."
And on that happy note, CLEAR CHANNEL Classic Rock KQLL /TULSA transformed into KTGX "GEN X RADIO," playing the likes of U2, NIRVANA, MAXI PRIEST, THIRD EYE BLIND, GWEN STEFANI, JANET JACKSON and EMINEM.
"GEN X RADIO has seen tremendous success in LOUISVILLE -- currently #1 18-34 and tied for #1 25-54," CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO SVP/Programming JON ZELLNER told ALL ACCESS. "We see the opportunity in TUSLA and think GEN X will compliment THE BEAT and KMOD very well."
"106.1 GEN X RADIO is not a typical radio station; it will give TULSA listeners a brand new experience," CCR Tulsa/Oklahoma VP/Regional Market Manager Bill Hurley said. "Our entire local team is extremely excited and focused on making GEN X RADIO the best choice for TULSA,"
OM DON CRISTI is handling the programming duties for now. as TULSA becomes the second market for the GEN X brand. "106.1 GEN X RADIO is a completely new concept," he said. "It’s a format that captures how 30-somethings listen to music and ignores genres and categories. This is the music that shaped a generation of pop music fans, and we believe every song played on KTGX will generate fans, not just listeners."
