Former ENTERCOM Talk WRKO-A/BOSTON midday host REESE HOPKINS, accused of raping a young girl, is asking a judge in NEW YORK TODAY (1/6) that he wants his case to go to trial. HOPKINS has been behind bars on RIKER'S ISLAND for almost 15 months, and he tells the BOSTON HERALD's JESSICA HASLAM that "I didn’t do it, and there’s proof to that. I’m wrongly accused."
HOPKINS was indicted on two felony counts of rape and one misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child. He says he was living and working in CONNECTICUT at the time of the alleged offenses and has letters from a real estate broker and another lessee that prove that his girlfriend, whose apartment was the site of the alleged crime and whose daughter was a friend of the alleged victim, had moved out of the apartment almost two months before the crime was said to have taken place.
