COMPASS RADIO GROUP Triple A KPRI/SAN DIEGO has announced that VP/Station Manager BOB BURCH has resigned his position from the station. He had been at the station since 2005.
KPRI Co-owner ROBERT HUGHES said: "This was a mutually agreeable, amicable -- but nonetheless -- difficult decision." Co-owner JONATHAN SCHWARTZ commented, "BOB BURCH has always advocated what he thought was best for KPRI. We appreciate his many contributions to COMPASS RADIO GROUP over the years we have worked together. We wish him the very best as he opens a new chapter in his career."
Meanwhile, Triple A veteran HALEY JONES will be joining KPRI as its new PD, starting FEBRUARY 1st. JONES joins KPRI from BONNEVILLE’s KSWD (100.3 THE SOUND)/LOS ANGELES, where she was APD/MD.
In making the announcement, SCHWARTZ said "KPRI enters our 15th year as SAN DIEGO’s only independent station. We can’t think of a better way to open up a new year, a new decade and a new chapter for KPRI than with HALEY JONES."
HUGHES added, "I’ve known HALEY for the last several years and have admired her work as MD at KFOG/SAN FRANCISCO and at KMTT/SEATTLE. I’ve also had the chance to work with her on some promotional projects for KPRI and I’ve always been impressed with her energy, knowledge and street smarts. Everybody who knows HALEY knows she’s ready for the challenge of programming a major market Triple A station. We’re delighted to give her the chance."
JONES said, "While BONNEVILLE and THE SOUND have been a fantastic experience, this is an opportunity I've worked toward for a long time and the chance to do it in SAN DIEGO -- I'm in! I look forward to making great radio at KPRI for many years to come."
