BONNEVILLE Sports WXOS (101 ESPN)/ST. LOUIS is launching "HOMETOWN HEROES," a monthly show looking at star athletes from the ST. LOUIS area. The show debuts THURSDAY (1/14) at 6p with an hour-long history of NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS running back and NORMANDY HIGH SCHOOL graduate LAURENCE MARONEY. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES receiver JEREMY MACLIN is scheduled for FEBRUARY.
BRIAN FELDMAN is hosting the series, which will also include looks at tennis legend JIMMY CONNORS, racing’s RUSTY WALLACE, PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES slugger RYAN HOWARD, and others. FELDMAN, BRIAN STULL, BOB RAMSEY, and other 101 ESPN personalities will narrate the series with CHRIS "HOSS" NEWPERT as Executive Producer.
"ST. LOUIS has been the home of some compelling sports figures, both recent stars on the playing field and past legends of the game," said Program Director JASON BARRETT. "While sports fans might be familiar with many of the heroes’ histories, listeners will be surprised to hear the detailed background and stories about each featured athlete’s rise to the elite level of competition, and how their experiences in ST. LOUIS shaped who they are today."
