ARISTA/NASHVILLE star BRAD PAISLEY's father, DOUG PAISLEY, helped give an INTRUST BANK ARENA employee in WICHITA, KS CPR on SATURDAY (1/09) before BRAD's concert. DOUG, a longtime volunteer firefighter and EMT, noticed the man on the floor in a hallway and performed CPR on him before the paramedics arrived. He was just about to use an automated external defibrillator when paramedics took over.
DOUG said: "I had the AED open ready to attach it. I kind of backed off and let them use theirs." DOUG was adamant that helping the man was a team effort.
STEVE COTTER, director of SEDGWICK COUNTY EMS, said paramedics "got a pulse back" and transported the man to a hospital. "Definitely it helped sustain the gentleman until we got there," COTTER said of the CPR.
