Several Triple Stations are doing their part to raise money to the support the victims of the earthquake in HAITI.
ALPHA BROADCASTING Triple A KINK joined its stationmates in PORTLAND, OR to conduct a radiothon to raise money for their local chapter of MERCY CORPS. EMMIS Triple A WRXP/NEW YORK is running a Request For Relief campaign where any listener who donates $100 gets to request a song to be played on the air. This will support the SALVATION ARMY. And ENTERCOM Triple A KMTT/SEATTLE is pointing people in the direction of several charitable organizations to support the Haitian people. One locally based group they are focusing on is called SOLES 4 SOULS, which provides gently used shoes.
Public station WMNF/TAMPA also raised money for HAITI relief with a 10-hour emergency fund drive. The station selected four relief organizations: WYCLEF JEAN‘s YELE HAITI organization, DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS, PARTNERS IN HEALTH and MERCY CORPS. Plus, TUNED-IN Triple A WRLT/NASHVILLE has partnered with the HAITI EARTHQUAKE RESPONSE FUND OF THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, which will focus their efforts on clean-up and restoration efforts in the aftermath of the earthquake.
Further, FORDHAM UNIVERSITY Triple A WFUV/NEW YORK, TOWSON UNIVERSITY Triple A WTMD/Baltimore, SARKES-TARZIAN Triple A WTTS/INDIANAPOLIS and many others are offering links to many charitable organizations via their websites and VIP eNewsletters.
