The WASHINGTON EXAMINER's JIM WILLIAMS is reporting that CBS RADIO Sports WJZ-A (SPORTS RADIO 105.7 THE FAN)/BALTIMORE afternoon co-host ANITA MARKS has exited the station after failing to reach agreement on a new contract.
MARKS, whose departure is also being reported at DCRTV.COM, has been co-hosting afternoons with SCOTT GARCEAU since the station flipped to Sports in 2008. GARCEAU is now listed as solo at the FAN's website
A statement from regional sports cable network MASN, where MARKS and GARCEAU's show was simulcast, read, "As ANITA MARKS departs CBS RADIO to pursue new opportunities, MASN wishes her the very best. Since the network's 24x7 launch in July of 2006, ANITA has been an afternoon staple on MASN. She has brought sharp analysis, informed opinion and strong perspective on local, regional and national sports to MASN's audience. We appreciate her three and a half years of service to sports fans in BALTIMORE and throughout the country. We wish her the very best with her future endeavors and have every confidence that her star will continue to rise.".
