Indie artist BUTCH WALKER just expanded his fan base. This past NOVEMBER, when announcing a stint at the HOTEL CAFE in LOS ANGELES, the artist asked the crowd to request songs he should cover, via TWITTER. On the first night of that stand, WALKER covered TAYLOR SWIFT's "You Belong To Me," which was the #1 request from his fans.
Later, WALKER recorded his own version of SWIFT's hit, filmed a making-of video, and posted the results on his YOUTUBE channel. Just a couple of days after, TAYLOR got wind of it, proclaiming that she was 'blown away,' after hearing WALKER's take of her hit.
The result was that WALKER was on stage last night at the GRAMMYs with SWIFT and STEVIE NICKS, performing his stripped-down version of the song. You can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUwf_lJCJwM.
