ARISTA/NASHVILLE star CARRIE UNDERWOOD is the first performer to be announced for this year's CMA MUSIC FEST, which will be held JUNE 10th-13th in NASHVILLE. UNDERWOOD called 15-year-old RILEY AHLSTRAND, an ardent fan of the festival, to tell her the news first. AHLSTRAND was being interviewed by BRAD SCHMITT from WKRN-TV (Channel 2)/NASHVILLE at the time.
A tearful AHLSTRAND said: "This is the best thing that has ever happened. I couldn't have dreamed anything cooler than this!"

According to www.cmafest.com, the next artist announcement will be made on FEBRUARY 18th. Ticketing information can also be found on the site or by calling 1-800-CMA-FEST.
UNDERWOOD will also be singing the NATIONAL ANTHEM at SUPER BOWL XLIV as part of the pre-game festivities on FEBRUARY 7th (NET NEWS 1/28). Check out a video of her at the SUPER BOWL press conference with QUEEN LATIFAH, who will perform "AMERICA the Beautiful," here.
