HOWARD STERN "Wack Pack" member TOM "CAPTAIN JANKS" CIPRIANO pleaded guilty MONDAY to charges of theft by deception and deceptive business practices in a case arising from his allegedly not showing up for bar appearances for which he was paid.
The LANSDALE REPORTER reports that CIPRIANO, a NORTH WALES, PA resident who is known for his prank calls to television programs and news reporters, was sentenced to eight years' probation and payment of $5,926 in restitution, although if he pays the restitution before three years, he can petition to have the remainder of the probation terminated.
CIPRIANO blamed his actions on his addiction to prescription painkillers in a discussion on STERN's SIRIUS XM RADIO show last FEBRUARY; he told the court that he has been sober for exactly a year.
