New FM Talker Coming To Syracuse
February 22, 2010 at 11:01 AM (PT)
As hinted earlier TODAY on ALL ACCESS, CITADEL is indeed flipping AC WLTI/SYRACUSE to Talk next week as 105.9 THE BIG TALKER with veteran talker GARY NOLAN returning to the market where he began his career to take over 4-7p. NOLAN is arriving from ZIMMER Talk KSSZ (EAGLE 93.9)/COLUMBIA, MO, where he announced FRIDAY that he was leaving to join a station in NEW YORK.
PREMIERE's BOB AND TOM will air in mornings, and DIAL GLOBAL's STEPHANIE MILLER and MICHAEL SMERCONISH, syndicated DAVE RAMSEY, and CITADEL's MARK LEVIN will also be in the lineup.
"Spoken word on FM is one of the fastest growing segments in radio right now and it’s time SYRACUSE has a voice on FM for local and national issues," said Market Manager DAN AUSTIN.
In addition, as it loses the ESPN RADIO affiliation for SYRACUSE to crosstown GALAXY Sports convert WTLA-A-W249BC (formerly Adult Standards on the AM and a simulcast of Alternative WKRL (K-ROCK) on the translator), CITADEL's WNSS-A will re-image as THE SCORE 1260, with CITADEL's DON IMUS in mornings, the local "ON THE BLOCK WITH BRENT AXE" expanding to 2-6p weekdays, and SPORTING NEWS RADIO added to the lineup.
