Internet Host: Threats Against Judges 'All Talk, No Action'
March 5, 2010 at 4:31 AM (PT)
At the retrial of Internet talk show host HAL TURNER, the defendant, facing charges of making terrorist threats against three federal judges in CHICAGO, testified that his comments were "part of my schtick" and "all talk, no action." TURNER posted photos of the three judges with the statement that they were "worthy of death" on his blog, and made various threats against the judges and their families on his show.
"I didn’t make a threat," TURNER insisted under cross-examination. "I rendered an opinion ... I never said I was going to do anything."
TURNER contends that he was set up and was working as an undercover agent for the FBI when he made the comments. His first trial ended with a hung jury in DECEMBER.
