ARBITRON and EDISON RESEARCH will be releasing their latest "Infinite Dial" research report on APRIL 8th, and one of the statistics included in the study is that, for the first time, more people would give up television than the Internet if forced to choose between the media. This represents the first time the Internet was considered the most essential medium, with just over 48% willing to give up the Internet and 49% willing to give yp TV. In 2001, 72% would give up the Net and just 26% would give up TV.
"(T)he shift over these nine years has been steady and profound,” said EDISON Pres. LARRY ROSIN. ARBITRON SVP/Marketing BILL ROSE added, "If you look at those Persons under age 45 the gap towards eliminating television is much greater."
